The Pilgrims Society

The Pilgrims Society is a British-American society established promote good-will and everlasting peace between the United States and Great Britain. The Pilgrims Society consists of two chapters. The London chapter of the Pilgrims Society was established on July 11, 1902, and it was followed by the New York chapter on January 13, 1903. Its purpose is to foster better Anglo-American relationships through cooperation of top banking and manufacturing institutions. Over the years it has boasted an elite membership of politicians, diplomats, businessmen, and writers. The Pilgrims Society remained hidden until relatively recent years. Even today few people know about a society that is so old and has so many wealthy, influential and powerful people in it.

The Cathars: Religion And Spirituality

The Cathars, also known as the Albigensians were a Christian religious group who appeared in western Europe in the 12th and 13th centuries. Their origin has been traced to the Bogomils and the Gnostics, with whom they shared a similar philosophy. The term Cathars originates from the Greek, catharos, which means the purified ones. Christian theologians debated with themselves for centuries whether Cathars were Christian heretics or whether they were not Christians at all. Cathars believed in two principles, a good creator god and his evil adversary. The evil god Satan or Lucifer ruled the material world which is evil and that humans must renounce the world to free their spirits. They believed that a man who died without such a spiritual rebirth would face reincarnation again and again, in human or animal form.

About Rosicrucian Order AMORC

The Ancient and Mystical Order Rosae Crucis (AMORC), also called Rosicrucian Order, is a worldwide mystical, Rosicrucian, educational, humanitarian and fraternal organisation. Members are known as students. The AMORC association was founded by H. Spencer Lewis, 1915 in New York to support and organize the activities of a legendary Rose-Croix Order. The headquarters moved to San Jose in 1927. It is the largest Rosicrucian organization operating in North America and Europe. The teachings Of AMORC are based on the development of the physical, mental, emotional, psychic, and spiritual aspects of life. AMORC is governed by The Supreme Grand Lodge of AMORC, it is responsible for the worldwide coordination of AMORC. The highest chief of this organisation is called Imperator. He is responsible for coordinating and representing the Order worldwide. The Rosicrucian Order AMORC is a large international organization and has over 250,000 members in 85 countries around the world. The headquarters complex and Egyptian Museum located in San Jose are very popular tourist attractions.

Modern Rosicrucian Groups

During the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, various groups called themselves Rosicrucian. Almost all of them claimed to be authentic heirs to a historical Rosicrucian tradition. The largest and most successful Rosicrucian organization was the Ancient Mystical Order Rosae Crucis (AMORC), it was founded by H. Spence Lewis and located in large headquarters in San Jose. The group called the Rosicrucian Fellowship was founded by the Dane Carl Louis von Grasshof 1909-1912. Rosicrucian Fellowship is said to be inspired by the Rosicrucians, so hence the name fellowship. Fraternitas Rosae Crucis (FRC) was founded in 1912 by Reuben Swinburne Clymer. Societas Rosicruciana in Anglia (SRIA) was founded around 1860 by the freemason R.W. Little. He claimed to have encountered some Rosicrucian documents deriving from the authentic Rosicrucian order. Other various groups include the, Confraternity of the Rose Cross (CR+C), the Rosicrucian Order Crotona Fellowship, Societas Rosicruciana, the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, Lectorium Rosicrucianum (LR), Order of the temple of the Rosy Cross (OTRC), Societas Rosicruciana in Civitatibus Foederatis (SRICF), Ordo Templi Orientis (OTO) and others as well.

The Thule Society

The Thule Society (Thule-Gesellschaft) was a German occultist group in Munich, named after a mythical northern country from Greek legend. A primary focus of Thule Society was to find the origins of the Aryan race. Thule was a land located by geographers in the furthest north. The Thule Society was founded 1918, by Rudolf von Sebottendorff. He had been schooled in occultism, Islamic mysticism, alchemy, Rosicrucianism and much else. Among the members of Thule Society were journalists, poets, professors, and Army officers. Von Sebottendorff claimed that the Thule Society was of huge importance to the founding of National Socialist movement. He also claimed later that he originally intended the Thule Society to be a vehicle for promoting his own occultist theories, but that the Nazis pressed him to emphasize political, nationalist and anti-Semitic themes. The Thulists believed in the hollow earth theory. The Thule Society is the center of many conspiracy theories concerning Nazi Germany. These theories include the creation of spacecraft and secret weapons like the creation of vril-powered Nazi UFOs.

The Vril Society

Vril means the Light Force. The Vril Society was also known as the Lodge of Light or the Luminous Lodge. This society combined the political ideals of the Order of the Illuminati with Hindu mysticism, Theosophy and the Cabbala. It was founded, literally, on Bulwer Lytton's novel The Coming Race, in which he describes a race of men psychically far in advance of ours. The Vril Society presented the idea of a subterranean matriarchal, socialist utopia ruled by superior beings who had mastered the mysterious energy called the Vril Force. The Vril Society was one of he most influential of the occultic groups in post-WWI Germany and many of Germanys social elite were members. Since 1960 there has been a conspiracy theory about a secret Vril Society. A German author Wilhelm Landig has linked Vril Society with Nazi UFOs and an escape by high Nazis to Antarctica.

Freemasonry: Ritual, Symbolism And Morality

Freemasons are members of the largest and oldest fraternity in the world. No one knows just how old it is because the actual origins have been lost in time. This group valued privacy and tolerance.
Masons conduct their meetings using rituals and each Jurisdiction has its own ritual. However, there are similarities among its Jurisdictions. The Freemasons rely on the architectural symbolism of the medieval Masons who actually worked in stone. One of the principal symbolic tools always found in a Lodge are the square and compasses. There is no general interpretation for these tools. Often a letter G is placed there, usually is said to represent God and/or Geometry. Their moral lessons are communicated in performance of a ritual in which a candidate progresses through degrees gaining knowledge and understanding of himself, his relationship with others and his relationship with the Supreme Being.
